U0310 Diagnostic Trouble Code


U0310 is a kind of OBD-II Diagnostic U-Network Diagnostic Trouble Code.

It is considered generic because it applies to all makes and models of vehicles, although specific repair steps may be different depending on your car model.

Symptoms

Symptoms of a U0310 diagnostic trouble code may include:
  • Faulty PCM
  • The light may stay on or light intermittently as the DPF regenerates. The engine will be sluggish on acceleration.
  • Poor acceleration
  • If the DPF is not cleared the ECU will revert to the "Limp Home Mode" until the situation is corrected

  • Fuel with a large percentage of sulfur will clog the DPF quickly
  • The Mass Airflow sensor will also cause this problem. Mass Airflow circuit malfunction.
  • A large air leak at or near the number one oxygen sensor would also cause a lean mixture.

Find out what kind of system you have and verify that voltage to the fuel level sensor is present at the fuel pump wiring harness. Oxygen sensors signal the engine management computer the amount of oxygen present in the exhaust, which is used in determining and controlling the fuel ratio. Once located, visually inspect the connectors and wiring. Look for rubbing, scraping, bare wires, worn spots or melted plastic connectors.
