P0119 Adler 12 Diagnostic Trouble Code

P0119 Adler 12 code definition:
P0119 is a kind of OBD-II Diagnostic P-Powertrain Diagnostic Trouble Code for Adler 12.

P0119 Adler 12 is described as Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected Bank 2 Sensor 1. This code appears when the PCM (powertrain control module, also known as ECM or engine control module in other brands) remains at or close the 0.450 set voltage point. There are two wires dedicated for each coil; one is battery feed which usually comes from the distribution center, and the other one for the coil driver circuit from the PCM. The PCM grounds or ungrounds the circuit to activate or deactivate the coil.

Possible Causes :

  • A faulty oxygen sensor. This will set a code in itself, however, a faulty oxygen sensor does not automatically condemn the sensor. The code just means that the sensor signal was not within specifications. An air leak or any of the above will cause an erroneous signal. There is a multitude of O2 codes relating to O2 performance which gives a clue to the problematic area.
  • Some aftermarket accessories and performance modifications
  • Rough running engine due to misfiring plugs. Many engines have misfire codes to indicate the cylinder effected, such as P0307 for number 7.

Common Misdiagnoses

  1. Control Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance Problem
  2. Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Feedback Circuit High Voltage Problem
  3. Cruise Vehicle Speed/Set Speed Difference Too High Problem
  4. Kick-Down Switch Failed Short Problem
  5. Park/Neutral Postion (PNP) Switch Circuit Engine Torque Signal Circuit Problem

Repair Processes :

Look for missing ground strap or a rusty ground where the fuel tank is grounded to the frame. Check for damage to the wiring harness connector. You might continue by connecting the scanner to the vehicle diagnostic connector and retrieving all stored codes and freeze frame data.
