B0314 Roamer 4-75 Diagnostic Trouble Code

B0314 Roamer 4-75 code definition:
B0314 is a kind of OBD-II Diagnostic B-Body Diagnostic Trouble Code for Roamer 4-75.

B0314 Roamer 4-75 is defined as Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction. This code is a generic trouble code, meaning it applies to all vehicles equipped with OBD-II tool, or vehicles made since 1996 up to present. This is because the barometric pressure sensor is part of the MAF sensor. Sometimes, the MAF's sensing wire can accumulate and get covered with dirt, dust and/or oil residue, which can also lead to the error code.

Symptoms

Symptoms of a B0314 Roamer 4-75 diagnostic trouble code may include:
Place of B0314 in engine

Possible Causes :

  • Rough running engine due to misfiring plugs. Many engines have misfire codes to indicate the cylinder effected, such as P0307 for number 7.
  • Rarely - faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM-programming required after replacement)
  • A large vacuum leak would cause a massive amount of un-metered air to enter the intake manifold resulting in an overly lean mixture.

Common Misdiagnoses

  1. Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit Performance Problem
  2. TP Sensor Learn Not Complete Problem
  3. Low Coolant Circuit Problem
  4. Cruise Control System - Vehicle Accel Too High Problem
  5. Kick-Down Switch Failed Short Problem

Repair Processes :

If the engine displays a miss and there wasn't a code, determine which cylinder is misfiring. If the exhaust manifold is visible, spay or pour a small amount of water on each cylinder exhaust port. Water will evaporate immediately on good cylinders and slowly on the missing cylinder. If this can't be accomplished pull the plugs and check the condition. With the valve disconnected, the red voltmeter lead should be attached to the IMRC valve power wire and the black voltmeter lead connected to ground. If the scan tool has that capability, and the scan tool can operate the IMRC valves, then the problem is either resolved and a simple code clearing is all that's left or a new PCM would be called for.
