B0126 Packard Twin code definition:
B0126 is a kind of OBD-II Diagnostic B-Body Diagnostic Trouble Code for Packard Twin.

B0126 Packard Twin is defined as Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low. This means the CMP (camshaft position) sensor circuit on engine bank 1 sends an irregular reading. The PCM grounds or ungrounds the circuit to activate or deactivate the coil.

Symptoms

Symptoms of a B0126 Packard Twin diagnostic trouble code may include:
Place of B0126 in engine

Possible Causes :

  • A large vacuum leak would cause a massive amount of un-metered air to enter the intake manifold resulting in an overly lean mixture.
  • Faulty IMRC actuator/sensor
  • Low fuel pressure caused by a clogged filter, failing fuel pump, failed fuel pressure regulator or clogged or leaking injectors.

Common Misdiagnoses

  1. Control Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance Problem
  2. Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Feedback Circuit High Voltage Problem
  3. Cruise Vehicle Speed/Set Speed Difference Too High Problem
  4. Kick-Down Switch Failed Short Problem
  5. Park/Neutral Postion (PNP) Switch Circuit Engine Torque Signal Circuit Problem

Repair Processes :

If the engine displays a miss and there wasn't a code, determine which cylinder is misfiring. If the exhaust manifold is visible, spay or pour a small amount of water on each cylinder exhaust port. Water will evaporate immediately on good cylinders and slowly on the missing cylinder. If this can't be accomplished pull the plugs and check the condition. Pack the connector cavity with dielectric silicone compound (same stuff they use for light bulb sockets and spark plug wires) and reassemble. Find out what kind of system you have and verify that voltage to the fuel level sensor is present at the fuel pump wiring harness.

Process Tips

Diagnostic trouble code B0126 Packard Twin is not difficult to diagnose and repair. Thus, it always pays to have a qualified technician to look after your vehicle should this error code arise.
